Title: Artistic Research through Radio

Abstract: In this talk I will introduce my artistic research through radio. Since 2009, I have been developing a series of interdisciplinary projects, in collaboration with radio astronomers, radio operators, neuroscientists and philosophers. I will briefly present my work with the Moonbounce technology and the projects OPTICKS, COGITO in Space and Mare Incognito. My talk will focus on my current project A Sign in Space, in collaboration with the SETI Institute, the European Space Agency and several radio astronomy facilities. The project consists in transmitting a simulated extraterrestrial message as part of a live performance, using an interplanetary spacecraft. The objective of the project is to involve the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence world-wide community, professionals from different fields and the broader public, in the reception, decoding and interpretation of the message.
