Title: Synchronizing Zeeman and Polarimetry Observations of Molecular Clouds Abstract: The largely ordered cloud magnetic fields revealed by Planck and the B∝n^2/3 relation (B and n are respectively field strength and volume density) implied by the Zeeman measurements have puzzled astronomers. It is generally believed that only isotropic collapse can result in the 2/3 index, but gravitational contraction should be easier along the field direction. I will explain why the belief is unrealistic and show that Zeeman and polarimetry data agree well with each other. If the above can be digested before lunch, I will discuss the impact of this picture on cloud fragmentation and star formation.
