The following diversity, equity, and inclusion resources are available to the UVA and Charlottesville community. PLEASE NOTE: This list only captures some of the organizations at UVA, and is not intended to represent the full extent of services the University offers. This is a good starting point, and we encourage you to explore different groups at UVA and the larger Charlottesville community.

The University's online system for reporting sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, bias and discrimination, harassment, hazing, Clery Act Compliance (by CSAs), interference with speech rights, youth protection, and preventing & addressing threats or acts of violence. Title IX concerns should also be directed through this form.

Submit this form if you experience an accessibility barrier on Grounds. This form can be submitted anonymously. They will confirm receipt of your report, route the information provided to the appropriate department based on the type of barrier selected, and send remediation information to the email address you provide.

Student Disability Access Center (SDAC)

SDAC provides academic accommodations, support services, and advocacy throughout the UVA community in line with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended. They offer the following services and more:

  • Academic accommodation services for students
  • Dietary requests for students using meal plans
  • Evaluations of students who have AND have not previously been diagnosed with a disability
  • Resources, information, and training for faculty

 

Mental Health and Wellness

CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services): A part of Student Health and Wellness, CAPS is the primary student mental health clinic on grounds. They offer a variety of services, including:

  • One-on-one counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Psychiatric services
  • Online services through TimelyCare
  • Emergency & crisis care

FEAP (Faculty & Employee Assistance Program): Designed specifically for faculty and staff, FEAP provides quality, professional, and comprehensive services, tailored to your individual needs.

Women's Center: A center that serves all genders in the Charlottesville community

HELP Line: 434-295-8255. A service of Madison House, this is a free, 24/7 confidential telephone hotline serving UVA, Charlottesville, and Albemarle County. It is a student-run and student-operated program, staffed entirely by anonymous volunteers. Volunteers provide callers with a confidential, empathetic, and non-judgmental listener with whom to discuss any issues the caller may be dealing with.

Jefferson-Madison Regional Library (also serves Charlottesville City): JMRL fosters personal growth and life-long learning for all by connecting people with ideas, information, and each other.

Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission: assists local member governments, partners, and stakeholders with a variety of technical and program services. These include grant application assistance, management services for program implementation, land use planning services and mapping. Serves Charlottesville and surrounding counties.

Blue Ridge Area Food Bank: The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and its charitable food assistance network of partners serve guests living with hunger across 25 counties and 8 cities on either side of the Blue Ridge. The Food Bank operates out of distribution centers located in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Winchester and Verona (our headquarters).
