Abstract: We live in a time of conflict on multiple fronts--be it the fight against a global pandemic, the invasion of Ukraine, or the US-China standoff over Taiwan. Throughout all of this, science continues, and does so in an unprecedented global manner. Now, more than ever before, scientists are working with their international peers, cooperating on projects and building instruments together. In this talk, we will learn from the history of science to discover how scientists in the past have cooperated during times of war and conflict. In doing so, we aim to understand the challenges they faced and determine what facilitated their successes, in the hopes we might apply these lessons to our present world.
