Fan Mountain Public Night Cancelled

Due to ongoing construction, we will not be holding a public night at Fan Mountain Observatory this fall.

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope recently imaged an extremely large and symmetric protostellar jet at the outskirts of our Milky Way galaxy. From tip to tip, this protostellar jet is 8 light-years across, about double the distance from our Sun to its closest neighboring star system, Alpha Centauri.

Leander McCormick Observatory is open on the FIRST and THIRD Friday nights of every month (except holidays) year-round. 
Tickets are released one month in advance on the first business day of the month, around noon.
